Payday Loan FAQ
What can I use the extra money for?
The loan funds are yours to use however you want. Medical bills piling up? Need some extra cash to make ends meet? Borrowers across the United States and Canada have asked for payday money for:
- Auto repairs
- Utility bills (gas, electric, water, sewer, trash)
- Broken appliances
- Household expenses
- Medical bills (co-pays, deductible payments, prescriptions)
- School fees (textbooks, technology, tuition)
- Entertainment (cable, Internet, Netflix, movies, date night, restaurants)
- Gifts (Christmas, birthday, anniversary)
How much can I borrow?
Many loan companies issue deposits from $100 to $1,500. First-time borrowers can expect about $200 to $300.
Lenders typically consider you when you
- Are at least 18 years old
- Live as a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada (unless otherwise stated)
- Have an open and active checking account
- Have a valid email address and phone number
- Receive at least $800 per month in gross income
- Can afford the additional debt
Local laws determine whether small unsecured loans are allowed in your area. Trust Cash Loans does not currently work with residents of Arkansas, Connecticut, New York, South Dakota, Vermont, or West Virginia.
Sorry, SSI direct express and other "loaded" cards do not work as checking accounts.
Do I need a cosigner?
No, a cosigner is not a requirement. At the same time, your lender may give you a higher loan amount if you can show higher income.
Can I get a faxless loan?
Many loan companies have moved paperwork online. They use e-signatures, secure emails, and account websites. Some lenders, however, may need documents faxed to them. You may need to send a copy of your driver's license or Social Security card.
Do I need perfect credit?
Better credit may qualify you for better APRs and lower fees. Not all lenders offer this incentive.
How much will I owe?
Paycheck cash advances are short-term credit lines only. They are long-term solutions. Because payday loan borrowers tend to present greater credit risks, the fees are also greater than traditional bank loans. Lenders typically state fees per $100 borrowed. For example, a fee of $15 per $100 means that you owe $115 when you borrow $100. In this example, you would owe $230 if you borrowed $200. Small cash loan fees typically range from $15 to $55.
How long can I borrow?
Loan repayment periods range from 7 to 30 days. In some states, you may be allowed to roll over your payday loan a limited number of times. In that case, your old loan balance will be paid off with a new loan and a new due date.
How do I pay the money back?
If you are approved as a loan applicant, you will give the lender your checking account number. The loan funds will be dropped into your bank account and then the principal plus fees will be taken out on the due date.
What if I have trouble paying?
No matter how much you need a quick cash loan, always borrow responsibly. Never take out more than you can afford to pay back. At the same time, everyone falls on hard times. If you know you will not be able to make your loan payment, tell your lender as soon as possible. Do not wait until the due date!
